SSPC2 The Second Annual Southwest Student Philosophy Conference |
|
|
What, Where, and When |
The Southwest Student Philosophy Conference (SSPC) is an undergraduate philosophy conference organized and run primarily by students in the University of Arizona Philosophy Club.
The second annual SSPC will be held at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ on Friday April 13th and Saturday April 14th, 2007.
Undergraduate students may be involved in the scheduled program in several ways. First, undergraduate students may present a paper. Second, undergraduate students may serve as the
commentator for one of the presented papers. Third, undergraduate students may chair one of the paper presentations. If you would like to submit a paper to present, see the submission guidelines below. If you are interested in commentating or chairing a presentation, please contact the program committee.
While the conference program will largely be made up of undergraduate presentations, anyone who wishes to attend any or all of the activities is entirely welcome. Last year we had a good mix of undergraduates, graduate students, and professors in attendance, from inside and outside of philosophy. This year’s conference promises to be even better.
Josh Knobe (UNC) will be the keynote speaker this year. See schedule for more details.

Registration, Prizes, and Accommodations |
There is no official registration required to attend the conference, and so there are no conference fees. The conference is open to all.
One undergraduate paper will be chosen by the program committee as the Outstanding Paper submission, and will be awarded a $50 prize. One paper presentation will be chosen by conference participants as the Outstanding Presentation, and will be awarded a $50 prize.
Funding for travel and accommodations will not be provided. However, we will do our best to facilitate housing and travel arrangements between incoming attendees and local students to cut down on costs as much as possible.
