The International Banquet
Just as we did last year, we plan on opening this year’s conference by breaking bread together. The banquet is included in your delegate fees and, yes, we accommodate vegetarians.
The Delegate Dance
Friday night is the Delegate Dance! A great opportunity to socialize with other delegates (and your staff members) in an informal setting, the dance is also a great time to meet delegates in other committees. Seeing as we hope to see you all “building blocs of diplomacy” at this year’s conference, the theme is The Ambassador’s Ball! Come dressed to impress as any ambassador or delegation from any time period. We hope this will be a more light-hearted means of building relationship as well as an opportunity to have a great time!
Spanish Language Committees
This year we will continue our OAS committee simulation. In addition, this year we will be adding a Spanish Language Historical Security Council set in 1989. These are great opportunities to practice both your diplomacy and your language skills!
Research Guides
Check the Arizona Model United Nations website starting Nov. 1st for study guides to help you in your research and preparation for conference.
Regional Body Simulation
For the first time, we will be simulating a meeting of the African
Union!
Specialized Spanish-Language Historical Security Council
Since our OAS simulation has expanded so rapidly over the past few
years, this year we will also offer an opportunity for Spanish-speakers
to participate in a smaller, more intimate committee environment. They
will have the opportunity to participate in our first ever Spanish
Historical Security Council set in 1989! This small double-delegated
committee will offer delegates an experience that should differ greatly
from the large OAS simulation.
