Ruhengeri, Rwanda

Welcome to AMUN! I'm a Biochemistry and Philosophy senior hailing from Heidelberg, Germany - the most beautiful city in the world. When I am not busy with Model UN, I conduct research with the Biochemistry Department, volunteer with hospice and work at O'Malley's on 4th. In addition to debate and international politics, I enjoy travel, adventure, the outdoors, art and philosophy. However, my three great loves are working towards improving health care all over the world, Africa - after spending the last six months in Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda - and a great cup of coffee. It is a supreme honor to serve as AMUN Secretary General and I look forward to meeting you all!

Undersecretaries General(USGs)

USG of Rules and Procedures

Jeremy Norden-Paul
He is resposible for teaching the rules of debate which
are used at Model United Nations simulations.

Peruvian Andes

I'm a senior majoring in Political Science and Spanish. I hail from the torrid desert expanses of Phoenix, Arizona, where we watch eggs sizzle on dog day summer sidewalks and eschew direct skin contact with anything that's black, metal or leather, or any combination of the three. But it's a dry heat. I dig politics, reading, international travel, storytelling and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I spent this past summer teaching at an orphanage in Perú, and it was hands down the most extraordinarily beautiful and challenging thing I've ever experienced. I'm looking forward to a super smashing year with the Model United Nations crew, and I can't wait to size up and take down the competition at our fall conference. I also have aspirations to dabble in spelunking.

USG of Public Information

Eric Reichenbacher
He is responsible for informing the community about
the club and our events. He is also responsible for
internal communications within the club.

Bamenda, Cameroon

Eric Reichenbacher is a Senior studying Economics and International Studies with a focus on African development as well as the proudest member of Arizona Model United Nations. Between his duties as a USG in AMUN, the International Studies Colloquium, ASUA basketball coach and Arizona Daily Wildcat columnist, Eric enjoys reading hilarious novels such as 'Confedaracy of Dunces', listening to the contientious lyrics of Common and Talib Kweli, playing sports, being with friends and, of course, ripping up the dance floor. Eric is currently working on a thesis on the ramifications of China's burgeoning relationship with Africa, which he hopes will springboard him into an International Affairs master's program on the East Coast, and later a career as a diplomat. Most importantly, Eric hopes to experience the landscape and people of all the UN-recognized countries in his lifetime.

USG of Conference Services

Nick Borst
He is resposible for the organization of amun's conferences
which include such events as Chicago and the annual High
School conference.

Yangtze, China

Nick is currently an International Studies senior. He grew up in the scorched wasteland known as Phoenix and then moved to equally hot Tucson. Nick has lived, studied and worked in China. Upon graduation, he plans to return to China to pursue a graduate education. In Tucson, Nick enjoys playing basketball, hanging out with friends, and visiting the U of A turtle pond daily. Outside of Model U.N., Nick is also the president of the U of A debate club and a high school debate coach.

USG of High School Coordination

Morgan Sim

of the high schools who participate in our conference.

Toronto, Canada

Salut! My name Morgan Sim and I am proud to be your acting Undersecretary General for High School Coordination. This is my third year at the University of Arizona, my third year as a part of Arizona MUN and my second year coordinating our (amazing) annual high school conference in March. I hope to graduate in May '09 with a B.F.A. in theater history and dramaturgy as well as a B.A. in political science with a minor in economics. While school and MUN take up a fair amount of my time, I spend the remainder working as a Residence Assistant and attempting to maintain a social life. Though some may beg to differ, I do have interests outside of politics, peacekeeping, IGOs and international law. I love theatre, musicals, slam poetry, jazz music, yoga, dancing (particularly African dance), development (particularly in Africa) and am a very proud Canadian.

This is my third year at the UofA, and work for American Apparel selling every color of cotton imaginable. I am a big fan of int'l affairs, just try and beat me at Catch Phrase in that department, love traveling to obscure places and dance parties. Sam and I are going to blow AMUN out of the water with our mad skills, so watch out.

Siena, Italy

My name is Samantha Stern and I'm from Agoura Hills, CA. I am a senior with a Political Science major and Literature minor. I'm passionate about international politics, traveling and cooking. This is a picture of me, enjoying some of those interests, this past summer in Siena, Italy.

Karachi, Pakistan

"I wasn't like every other kid, you know, who dreams about being an astronaut. I was always more interested in what bark was made out of a tree" -You couldn't describe me any better. I am an optimist, enjoying life as it arrives! Books, movies, and music are a constant element in my life, along with school! As an extrovert, there is nothing better for me than enjoying the company of friends. I'm involved in various activities; Blue Chip, Hospice, Intramurals, Pre-Dental Club, UBRP, etc! Being in Model UN all throughout my collegiate experience, it's safe to assume I am infatuated with world politics, current events, debating, peacekeeping, and everything that comes with it! I was born in Pakistan, but grew up in Sierra Vista, AZ. This past summer, I was fortunate to travel to Pakistan, immerse myself in a foreign culture and do some humanitarian work. In doing so, I not only experienced firsthand exposure to foreign politics in troubled areas, but also discovered more about myself and the value of service! My interest in social and humanitarian causes could not be any higher; I am truly looking forward to a memorable and exciting year of Model UN!

I am currently learning my fourth, Russian, and am seriously considering another. I am absolutely in love with Italian and Italy, having lived, studied and worked in Orvieto and Florence. Model UN has made my time at UofA extra special. Besides Model UN, I am President of the Italian Club here at UofA. USG of High School Recruitment

Lalita Abhyankar
She is responsible for the recuitment and development
of high school model united nations programs. This involves
teaching, networking and overall guidance to numerous high schools.

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Hello all! As a Biochemistry junior, many are surprised to find that I have such an avid interest in international relations and politics. In reality, Model UN has been a passion of mine since sophomore year of high school. I've been lucky enough to participate in four high school conferences and thoroughly enjoyed attending the collegiate conference in Chicago with the rest of the Arizona MUN delegation. Organizing the high school conference last spring was completely new for me, but enjoyed seeing a completely different side of the MUN experience. This semester, I'm looking forward to "spreading the gospel of MUN" to high schools around the Southwest and Chicago, of course!
