Arizona Finishes a Disappointing 4th at 2003 Nationals
After losing to Cal Poly in the semifinals of the National
Championship Tournament, the Wildcats were hoping to bounce back and beat
Yale in the third place game. Unfortunately, Yale's physical play appeared
to be to much for the Wildcats as they lost 8-4. Yale came out strong in the first period getting an early 3-0 lead and the Wildcats were never able to catch up. For the Bulldogs, National Tournament Second-Team selections Will Reid and Chris Van den berg scored 4 and 3 goals, respectively. For the Wildcats, Qualls, Snell, Acedo, and Delorenzo each scored one. Because of Qualls' outstanding performance over the National Tournament he earned Tournament First-Team honors and Delorenzo earned Second-Team honors. |
