Minutes for Meeting of 10-23-96

Hi Ramblers!

To all new members:

The Ramblers' Hiking CLub is a non-profit organization. We do all sorts of things from hikes and backpacks to Halloween Parties (below) and community service! There are no dues and everyone is invited to attend to our meetings where we plan the hikes. In general, all hikes meet in the parking lot behind the Park Student Center. Hikes are also ranked on a scale of (A,B,C) Where C is for wimps. Our meeting times and places are as follows:

10/23 Anniversary Lounge (Find your way to the patio above the Fig. Facing out over the railing (your back to the Terrace Dining Lound), turn to your right and walk until you see the Lounge on your right.)

Loretta passed out an information sheet on her Thanksgiving Backpack. If you would like to request this, please contact Loretta (620-1875) or I may have it on the listserve or web site within a few days.

Loretta (6201875) has proposed a hike for this Sunday to Ventana Canyon. We will meet in back of the Park Student Center. Departure is scheduled for 11am. The hike will be fairly easy (B-) and I'm sure the weather will be perfect (I hope!)

A number of people have suggested backpacks for Veterans' Day Weekend.

Angela has suggested Joshua Tree. Loretta has suggested the Chiricahuas. The final decision(s) will be made at our next meeting!

This weekend is the Annual Bean Fest at East Cochise Stronghold. There will be hiking, climbing, and on Saturday night, a party. Described as "a very tribal experience." Does anyone have any other information? Directions, for example?

Josh (795-6892) has a Halloween Party Potluck planned!!!! Meet at Josh's house on the corner of Warren and Hampton (1645 E. Hampton - Two streets south of Grant and two streets west of Campbell) Saturday November 2^nd at 7 p.m. in your costume. Don't forget to bring something to play for the jam session!

Everyone is invited to join a volleyball (soccer?) game this Saturday (10/26) at noon. We will meet in front of Gallagher Theater on the Mall. If either Jack or Loretta show up, we'll have at least half a game!

Every Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 3:30 p.m., and on Halloween Day at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 there is a (very scary) laser show at Flandrau (Cherry and University)! Everyone should go!

Don't forget to take pictures and save a few copies for the Ramblers' Club! We'd love to put them on the Web Page! Any questions or comments are welcome.
