Minutes for Meeting of 11-06-96
Hi Ramblers!
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! (All hikes for this week shall be announced by their respective planners via the listserve. This is due to the nature of chaotic Finals planning! BTW, how everyone does well!)
A lot has been happening these past few weeks! To recap, the Adopt-a-Family program turned out great! We raised $50 which Loretta, Kristen and I used at a local Safeway to but food and gift-certificates. Everyone who signed the sheet I passed out should see their name in this Fraiday's edition of the Wildcat. The Announcement section of the classifieds, I think. We even got a letter from the Mayor of Tucson! I've transcribed it below for anyone who would like to read it. Thanks again to all who helped out!
In addition the money that was raised for the adopted family, the Ramblers' Hiking Club now has a whopping $51 in its coffers. This money was petitioned from the ASUA as an initial funding request. $20 will be used for flyers, $20 will be used to purchase maps, and $11 will be used to purchase an ad for the Wildcat.
But the most important thing of all has yet to be announced! We're having a Christmas party! I'd like to have it at a Relative's house (They're never there) but if we do then it would have to be Saturday the 14th. Is this all right? If that's a bad dated I'm sure something else can be worked out. There will also be a small gift exchange (a white-elephant?). Anything under $5 should be great!
This upcoming Sunday (9th) there is going to be a really good band playing at Club Congress (sorry to everyone under 21!) Brian says the cost is only two dollars and the Atomic Frogs are worth it! It starts at 9pm.
This Friday begins "Holiday-in-light", a really awesome laser show choreographed by Josh. Call 621-STAR for information!
Erich (621-3994) offers a National Conservation Video for anyone intersted!
Joel Weingarten has returned to the Army. He wishes everyone well and says he had a lot of fun in the club!
Hope everyone is doing all right these last couple of weeks!!!!
Be sure to be at the next meeting, Anniversary Loungs. It will be important!
Jacob
