Minutes for Meeting of 04-02-97

This week we had a very small, very short meeting. We had only 7members total at the meeting and the meeting lasted about 7-10 minutes.

Last week's car camp to Stronghold went very well. Megan, Ian, Eric, and Ron participated in that hike. Eric said it was one of the best hikes he's done in the area due to the "exciting scenery." He also said there was both trail hiking and some rock climbing. The trip left Friday night and returned Sunday afternoon.

Upcoming Events:

Ian will lead to the Gallagher Theater tomorrow night for the 9:45pm showing of "Raiders of the Lost Ark." We'll meet in front on Gallagher at 9:30pm.
Friday afternoon Jon and Bill will conduct a mystery trip in the Santa Catalinas. Meet in the PSC parking area at 2pm. (It's a mystery trip because we're still trying to figure out a good place for an afternoon/evening trip). You may want/need a flashlight and jacket.
ALSO on Friday, Megan will lead a weekend backpack trip. This will meet at PSC at 4pm and will be to the Superstition Mountains. Estimated time of return is Sunday evening.

I brought up the subject of a club photo, but no one had any thoughts on it. I believe we should have a club photo once a semester during one of our meetings.

For an End of Semester Trip, Jon has some ideas floating around in his head, but nothing he wanted out in the open until he could narrow down his options. He is thinking about an overnighter.

Spring Fling is starting tomorrow. No one present has much interest in going as a group. If you want to get the unlimited rides bracelet it will cost you about $15.00 on Thursday and Friday. I don't think they're being sold for Sat/Sun. I think it's just $3 foro students to go in without the rides. It may be worth a peek. Also, Sunday is the dollar day. You can get in for $1.
