Minutes for Meeting of 04-16-97

Meeting called to order with 11 members present.

Last Week's Events:
Todd went to Petrified Forest & Painted Desert for a 1-night backpack Saturday. He said there was snow, drizzle, and frost.
Eric went hiking in the Santa Rita Mts on the NE Ridge on Sat. HE said it took about 3 hours to get to the top.

Funding:
Loretta says we are still waiting to open the official club account with the bank. Things we're think about purchasing for club use:

  • Water filters
  • a 2-man or 4-man tent
  • a Hiking Backpack
  • a camping stove

Loretta will do some window shopping this weekend. Anyone interested in going, see upcoming events below. Jon will bring the REI catalog next week for more window shopping.

Upcoming Events:
Loretta - Window shopping for club. Meet at 11am Sat 4/19 @ PSC.

Eric wants to do an evening moonlight hike this weekend. Anyone interested can email him or the listserv.

Paul said he can hike anyday except Mondays after 2pm. Anyone interested can email him or the listserv.

Jon said he can hike anyday except Tuesdays after 2pm. Anyone interested can email him or the listserv.

Todd will lead a movie night tonight to see "Scream." It will be the late showing (930 I believe). Check the movie schedule and meet at the steps of Gallagher Theater 15 minutes prior.

Loretta will lead an overnight backpack trip in the Santa Catalinas on the 26th and 27th. She's planning on the Sycamore Resevoir Trail on that Sat and the 7 Cataracts on that Sunday.
