Minutes for Meeting of 01-14-98

Howdy Hikers! We're back and better than ever!

Meeting started at 5:05pm (due to a locked door), all officers present.

There are no room changes to remember for this semester! Every Wednesday at 5pm we will be in Room 283 in the Cactus Lounge in the MSU.

We did the traditional beginning-of-the-semester introductions and found out where some of us hiked over the break. As always, anyone can lead a hike. Make sure you have the necessary maps and first aid kit. We have no dues other than we all chip in some money for gas for the drivers for the hikes. Our hikes are ranked A, B, C for difficulty, A being the hardest and C being easiest.

Some hikers went to the following places:
  • Scottsdale
  • Breakfast Canyon/Mt. Kimball ("Swim-hike")
  • Douglas Springs Trail
  • Desert Musuem
  • Northern Santa Ritas
  • Tucson Mts.
  • The Window Backpack Trip - rained all night, had patchy snow, but great views!
  • Colorado (Rocky Mountain Park)

NEW BUSINESS:
*Our Bank account starts the semester with $218.38 for equipment purchases.

THIS WEEK'S HIKES:
Sunday: Kurt (3180911) - Ragged Top (Silverbell Mts.) 10am Park Student Center
(PSC) B

Monday: Bill (2902527) - Tanque Verde Trail (Rincon Mts.) 9am PSC B
