Minutes for Meeting of 02-04-98

Officers present: Wolfgang, Loretta, B.J.

Past weekend's hikes:
  • Wolfgang went to the Desert museum AGAIN this past weekend... exhibits were good, especially the cats...
  • Ezra went on the King's Canyon trail, near the Desert museum. He reported that there were too many people and it was not what he expected.
  • Jon and several others went to the Cactus forest in Saguaro Nat'l Park East- followed several different trails, sometimes off the trail. Neat area to hike, and not too crowded.
  • Matt (and Fran, separately) went to the Tortolitas- nice quiet area, not too many people, decent road into the area. Not any real established trails, though, other than a cattle path.

Old business: The T-shirt stuff: Because of the cost of having a 2-sided t-shirt, it was decided that there would only be one design on the T-shirt. The "We don't hug trees" design will be put on the back of the shirt. The shirt will be 100% cotton, most likely a tan or other natural color. It will likely have two colors. Cost will be determined soon. Congratulations to Mike LeBlanc, who created the winning design.

Announcements:
  • Feb. 12-15: Tucson Rock & Mineral Show @ the Tucson Convention Center (downtown). Admission fee.
