Minutes for Meeting of 04-01-98

Officers present: Wolfgang, Loretta, B.J.

**Note**
The Ramblers Hiking Club is sponsoring a credit card company as a fundraiser. It will be from Mon. April 6-Fri April 10, on the mall in front of the Student Union (near the Domino's entrance). In order to make this happen, there must be at least one club representative present at all times. It is not absolutely necessary that you help out with the credit card application process, but someone just needs to be there. But we also get more money as we get more applications filled out. If you can spare an hour or two next week, it would be greatly appreciated. Specifically we need someone on Mon/Wed/Fri from 2-3 pm, Tues. from 12-1 pm, and any other times that you have available... so far Loretta and I are bearing the brunt of this fundraiser. Help! contact me at bcordova@ag.arizona.edu or 695-1577 if you can help out! Thanks, B.J.

  • --> Erich went to Ventana Canyon... an 11 hour hike, he hiked to the saddle. There was a LOT of water, and snow at higher elevations. Beautiful hike, but he had to boulder hop and ended up in the COLD water a few times too!
  • --> Wolfgang took several short day hikes (4 hrs. total) on the west side of the Tucson mts, near the desert museum & Old Tucson. He also took some photos of wildlife. Then...
  • --> Liz, Wolfgang and 3 others headed up to Tempe to the Arizona Mills mall to see the Mt. Everest at the IMAX theater. It was a spectacular show...
  • --> Mike went to a benefit for the SW Center for Biological diversity --on Stone Ave. Had a local blues band & folk singers. It was sort of environmental activist-oriented, with an 'interesting' mix of people.
  • --> John & Paul- 13 hour hike up to and along a ridge to-- Mundo Perdido??? --there was a trail part of the way, then rocky terrain and bushwacking. They also saw a falcon.
