Minutes for Meeting of 05-06-98

Hi everyone, sorry these are a little late. I've been busy w/finals and moving out. --B.J.
*******************
Officers present: Loretta, Wolfgang, B.J.
Old business: we received the check from the credit card company on Wed. Our new checking acct balance (to be spent on gear and supplies for the club) is $197.89.

We will tentatively have another credit card fundraiser the first week of school, Aug. 24-28.

Loretta's "best" awards were given out at the meeting. She will post a listing of who received what award.

Wolfgang- Went to the westside of the Cochise stronghold in the Dragoon Mts. on Saturday. 9-10 miles, camped overnight--overall very nice weather, some wildflowers & birds. Mostly on trail, some bushwacking. Also some interesting geological formations.

The hiking club party on Saturday had a decent turnout. A couple dozen people or so hung out for awhile, good food, beverages...

Fran & Paul went to the Tohono O'odtham indian reservation to Mundo Perdido. They camped at the trailhead, left from there around 6am. Did lots of climbing over big rocks. Lots of spires, bushwacking tot he top. Killer views of Baboquivari. Took 5.5 hours to the top, 6.5 to get back down. Some water, pools, and even frogs!

**Note** there will be meetings over the summer- Loretta will post the location. Next wed- there will be a meeting, at the same place as usual.
