Minutes for Meeting of 09-09-98

Hello Ramblers

There were 20 members present at yesterdays meeting, and two officers present at the beginning. The elections were held today.

Announcements:

Some guy is trying to sell his used maps to the club at 5 dollars a piece. If you wish to contact him, his email is : howldog@flash.net. Todd mentioned the fact that you can copy any topo map of the U.S. at the U of A library. He said it would be a better idea to spend the money on more permanent goods for the club. Wit mentioned the idea of buying out the maps at a discounted price.

Last weeks hikes:

-Joe and I and some other people climbed mt. Humphries over the weekend.

We summitted on Sunday and backpacked out on Monday.

-Karl led a backpack into the Gila wilderness this weekend. He said that it was a great trip. One other member went along.

-I think that was all 

Upcoming hikes:

-Dave is leading a trip to the Santa Ritas (Josephine canyon) 8-10 miles, rated B+, leave on saturday at 4pm and come back sunday night. 881-5982

-Wolfgang will be leading a Saturday hike to the Huachuca mountains. Leave at 7a.m at the PSC. He will be going to Miller canyon and Carr peak. Rated A 292-1744

 -Karl is leading a backpack this weekend to West Clear creek near the Mogollon Rim area. Leave Friday at 6p.m. and come back on Sunday night.

 -Wit will be leading a C hike to the Aspen loop trail in the Santa Catalins mountains on Sunday. leave at 10a.m. at the PSC. 721-8412.

Bring a raincoat and lunch

 -Ross will be leading a campfire hike to the Santa Rita mountains next weekend. Leave Friday at PSC and return saturday. 617-0914 or Rossl@u.arizona.edu
