Minutes for Meeting of 09-23-98
Hey Ramblers,
Yesterdays meeting was called to order with 17 members present and the four officers.
Announcements:
-We made a new Ramblers poster with a bunch of info on it. We will post it up every meeting.
-T-shirts are still for sale if anybody wants one ($10.00)
-Mike and B.J. went to the ASUA meeting and talked about money. Overall they requested about 200 dollars.
Last weeks activities:
-Vit led a hike to the Lemmon pools area on Sunday. There were about 11 members there I think. It was a bit of a bushwack to get there but it was well worth it. The water was freezing but Ijumped in first. (because my sock fell into the water).
-Erich climbed a mountain outside of Prescott. When he got to the top it was so windy that his hat fell off. He decided to be brave, so he went and got it.
Upcoming events:
-The Mexico trip is planned for the weekend of October 2,3,&4. It will be a relaxing weekend on the beach. If anybody knows exactly how to get to the place we went to last year, please let me know.
-Ross will be leading an overnight campfire hike into the Santa Rita mountains on the Boggs springs trail. Leave Saturday at PSC at 3p.m.
Show up with a car if you have one. Rated a C+. Contact Ross at rossl@u.arizona.edu for any questions.
-Vit will be leading a Hike into the Chirichaua mountains sometime soon. Rated a B, but the car part will be rated an A(dirt roads).
-Wolfgang will be leading a trip to Organ Pipe cactus national monument on the weekend of Oct 17-18th. Camping and some dayhikes.
-There is also some interest in leading a trip to the Kofa wildlife refuge in western Arizona over the Thanksgiving break.
Erich presented a really cool slideshow on his trip to Venezuala. Interesting shots of the various peaks he climbed and some wildlife.
thats about it
