Minutes for Meeting of 09-30-98

Hey guys,
Yesterdays meeting was called with 21 members present and all 4 officers.
Announcements:
-The club received 90 dollars from ASUA which we can use on maps, books and stuff. We have about a hundred dollars in our account, and maybe some credit card money soon. We could spend some of that money on a spare bulb for the slide projector.
-Matt will be presenting his slide show of his summer in Yosemite next week.
 last weeks hikes:
-Rigden hiked in the chirichauas at a low elevation. Scrub oak and other trees were prominent.
-Erich went camping in the Huachuchas in an area that was somewhat burned from a forest fire.
-Wolfgang hiked some in the Catalina mountains. Guthrie peak and part of the butterfly trail on sunday.
 upcoming hikes:
Vit will be leading a hike to the Chirichaus on sunday. 6 hours of driving, some on dirt road(alltogether 3 both ways) leave 7:15 a.m. on sunday at PSC. Rated B. Erich will be leaving for this hike on Saturday at 3:30 from PSC and camp that night in the Chirichauas.
-Ross is thinking about leading a Rincon backpack for the Thanksgiving break or another long weekend.
-Todd and Dave are leading a backpack next weekend to the Eagletail mountains, 60 miles west of Phoenix. Leave Friday at 10:30 and come back sometime sunday. 12-14 mile dayhike on Saturday. Bring no less than a gallon of water a day since there will be no water in the area. Rated B+.

-Wolfgang will be leading an overnight trip and dayhike to Organ pipe cactus national monument on October 17-18th. more details to come
