Minutes for Meeting of 10-07-98

Howdy hikers

 Todays meeting was called with a grand total of 26 members and 3 officers. All of the chairs were filled.

announcements:

If anybody has any ideas about what we should spend our club money on, bring it up at the next meeting, maybe we will buy a club car our something. We have about a million bulbs for the slide projector.

-If you have a car then bring it to the PSC on hikes, recently some hikes have been organized but no cars were available.

last weeks activities:

Vit led a hike to the chiricauas on Sunday. It was very windy near the top of the peak. One person got lost on the ridge somewhere. they could see how badly the forest was burned.

Upcoming hikes:

Vit will be leading another hike to the Chiricauas, leave Sunday morning at 7:45 at the PSC, prepare for a long day of hiking and 3 hours of driving to get there. 11 miles and a 2,200 foot elevation gain. rated B

Todd and Dave are leading a backpack to the Eagletail mountains, 80 miles west of Phoenix. You need to carry all of your water, about a gallon a day. Leave Friday at 10:30a.m. from PSC, come back sometime on Sunday. Bring a car if you have one.

Wolfgang postponed his Organ Pipe trip to October 24-25th.
