Minutes for Meeting of 10-21-98

 Hey ramblers
Todays meeting was called with 13 members present. A little low because of the rain.
Last weeks activities:
-Mike and I went to the Tumacacori mountains to do a roadless survey for a new Arizona wilderness bill. It was lead by the Sky Island Alliance and S.E.A.C. There is another roadless survey in a month in the little Rincons.
-Wolfgang, Paul and a couple other ramblers went to Cochises head in the Chiricahuas on Saturday. It actually looks like a head, there was a register near the nose! According to the register, Wolfgang did that hike on May 4, 1985!
-Wit and Hanna did a trash pick up on the San Pedro river for the S.W.C.F.D. It is a perenial desert river in a cottonwood forested area.
-B.J. Walked around the Mogollon rim near Payson for about an hour.
-Kathryn hiked in Sabino Canyon this weekend, She said it was really cool.
Upcoming hikes:
-Liz will lead a hike on the Aspen Loop trail in the Catalinas on Sunday, Leave at 7.a.m from PSC. Rated C. Please RSVP crapoe@u.arizona.edu or 747-2334.
-Wolfgang is leading his Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument camping and dayhike trip this weekend. Leave 7a.m. on Saturday from PSC. Short backpack to campsite. Dayhike n Arch Canyon to check out some endangered species of fish, come back on Sunday. Rated B+. Email: wolfgang@u.arizona.edu
-Hutton is going to Wassen Peak in the Tucson mountains on Friday. Dusk to night hike. RSVP him at 743-8633 email hutton@u.arizona.edu
-Wit is going on a hike in the La sena Creek area with the S.W.C.B.D. on Sunday the 8th. more info to come
-Wit is leading a hike to Thimble peak in the catalinas on Saturday 7th. B hike (13-14 miles). email wit@ece.arizona.edu
