Minutes for Meeting of 10-28-98
Hey everybody,
Many people at the meeting yesterday, about 22 members in all.
-announcements:
We are going to adopt a family again this year, so bring some a couple of bucks to the next meeting if you want to contribute.
last weeks activities:
-Liz and two other ramblers went to the Aspen Loop this weekend. The trees were changing color and it was kind of foggy.
-Wolfgang, Sheryl, Joel, Erich and I went to Organ Pipe Cactus national monument this weekend. In all we did 4 day hikes, one up a mountain near the border(too many cholla thingys), then we went to Quitobaquito to see the endangered species of fish, they were really small. On Sunday we did two really cool day hikes to Arch canyon where we atre lunch under the arch, and Estes canyon loop.
Upcoming activities:
-Jon is planning on going to the Boyce Thompson arboretum sometime this weekend. Students, faculty members ,and employees of the university get in free if they have a school ID. Maybe a dayhike in White canyon nearby. Call Jon at 621-8227 or email at jonh@u.arizona.edu to figure out which day to go to the arboretum. Rated C- RSVP if interested!
-Wolfgang and Sheryl are planning to go to Sycamore canyon on Saturday, leave PSC at 7a.m. Halloween hike. This canyon is in Coronado Nat'l forest near the border of Mexico. Rated B Phone number: Sheryl's ph # 318-4780
-Josh is having a Halloween party Saturday night from 7p.m. to Dawn. Bring food and a costume if you want. If you play an instrument bring it.

-Ross is planning a hike in the Tucson mountains sometime this weekend. He will post it on the listserve. Liz showed a great slideshow from Chiricauhua national monument at the end of the meeting. Some great shots of weird rock formations and of Cochises Head. Thanks Liz
