Minutes for Meeting of 11-18-98

Hello everybody,
We had a total of 14 members at yesterdays meeting.
-Announcements: We are trying to raise some money for the adopt a family program we mentioned earlier. If you want to donate a couple dollars or some food, contact B.J. bcordova@ag.arizona.edu and we will buy a gift certificate for the family.
Last weeks hikes:
-4 people went on a backpack in the Catalinas which was mostly dirt road hiking on the Cañada del Oro trail. Nice weather and a couple of snakes spotted by Wolfgang and the gang.
-Mike and I and Sheryl and Sara went to the Buenos Aires national wildlife refuge over the weekend. We hiked quite a bit on Saturday, mostly on dirt roads out in the middle of nowhere and in the Altar wash. We didn't know that it was hunting season though.
-4 people also went to Table Mountain in the Catalinas led by Jon. Easy terrain but hard vegetation (Devil Grass!) Next time anybody goes, ignore the cairns.
-B.J. went to Sabino canyon.
Upcoming hikes:
-Jon is leading a backpack to the White canyon Wilderness over Thanksgiving. Leave mid morning on Thursday come back Sunday. More info was posted on the listserve yesterday. jonh@u.arizona.edu
