Minutes for Meeting of 03-17-99

 Hello Ramblers!

A small meeting was held this Wednesday with 5 members. Jon and Erich made it to the meeting, just in time, returning from their trip to White Canyon.

1.) Jon led a trip to White Canyon from Sunday to Wednesday. There were 7 people that went. More will be discussed about the hikes for this trip at next week's meeting.

2.) Wolfgang was in the Chiricahua Mountains this past Saturday and Sunday, hiking and camping near the Pinery Canyon road. On Sunday, he had an early start to go to Chiricahua National Monument, where he hiked up Sugarloaf Peak and inside Rhyolite Canyon. It was very warm and pleasant that day, with excellent scenery from the peak and inside the canyon.

3.) Ross, on his return from Chicago, stopped at Grand Canyon National Park, where he did a good day hike down and up the Bright Angel Trail.

1.) At present, the one camping/hiking trip, which is planned for Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon is being postponed. The new dates are the weekend of April 3rd and 4th. For more information, contact Robbie Hannawacker: robbie@u.arizona.edu or 888-8258.

2.) Wolfgang is still planning a trip to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument for the early part of April. Dates are still flexible to accomodate people, who are interested.
