Minutes for Meeting of 03-24-99

Hello
Yesterday's meeting was held with 3 officers and 14 ramblers present.
Announcements:
The t-shirt contest was held today. A total of five entries were voted on. It was a close race but Joe and B.J. submitted the winning designs. On the back will be Joe's submission: "My superior ability will allow me to continue hiking indefinitely", I think that's how it goes. On the Front will be B.J.'s design of big A in the shape of a mountain. Same color t-shirts as last year.
 Past hikes:
-Mike went to the Grand Canyon over spring break. He stayed at the Phantom ranch in the bottom. He says it was really cool!
-Jon led a trip to White Canyon for three days. They saw two Gila Monsters there. They got a good look at the Rincon and the surrounding area. Jon says that there is some old Spanish armor in the area, but they didn't see any. Great hike, although there is too much to see in just three days.
-Ross also went to the Grand Canyon his way back to Tucson. He went on a day hike.
-Matt went hiking in Idaho and Montana. Long drive!
-Wolfgang went to the Desert museum and did some hiking in Chiricahua National Monument, and hiked up Marshall Gulch as well.
-Erich hiked up Tanque Verde peak in the Rincons.
Upcoming hikes:
-Robbie is still planning on going to Sedona on the Weekend on April 3rd and 4th. Leave at 9 a.m. on Friday April 3rd and do some hikes in Red Rock State Park.
-Wolfgang is planning a trip to Organ Pipe as well in April.
-This Saturday or Sunday Erich wants to go to Rincon Peak in the Rincons. This would be a hard "A" rated hike and it would take all day. More info will be posted on the exact time and day.

That's all, happy hiking!
Phil Fenberg (secretary)
