Minutes for Meeting of 03-31-99

 Hey everybody,

Yesterday's meeting was held with 15 ramblers and 4 officers present.

-Hanna went to the San Pedro river and Sonoita creek near the border.

-Wolfgang went to Saguaro National Park and did some more volunteer work.

-Ross, Matt, Dave and Todd went to the Arrastra mountain wilderness. Long drive but very cool. They said they saw a saguaro tree growing in the shade of a juniper tree. Weird.

-Erich did a really long hike (26 miles) up to Mica mountain in the Rincons. Got all the way to the snowy top from the desert!

-Wolfgang is leading the Organ Pipe trip on the 10th and 11th of April. Leave on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Wolfgang@u.arizona.edu. Rated B.

-Ross wants to lead a hike this weekend to the Tucson mountains for a short day hike. Saturday at 10a.m. meet at the Park student union. Rated B-. rosslampert@hotmail.com or 886-3001

-Mike mentioned a wilderness survey conducted by the Sky Island Alliance for the weekend of the 17th and 18th. More info to come.

There has been some interest in buying a good sleeping bag for the club. I think that is a good idea. I will bring a gear list to the next meeting because it would cause too much pain to type it all out.
