Minutes for Meeting of 07-14-99

Hello Ramblers!

1.) This past weekend, Wit, Erich, Wolfgang, and Farideh did a hike in the Pinaleno Mountains. They started at the Arcadia trailhead and reached Heliograph Peak, where there is on of the oldest lookouts in the area. Wolfgang also did an extra 2 miles over to Shannon trailhead. In the afternoon, they encountered monsoon storms.

2.) Joe Liesz did a hike in the Kit Carson National Forest in New Mexico in a range at 10,000ft. He saw wildlife, including an Elk kill.

West Clear Creek: Hanna, who is planning a trip, will post a separate announcement with more detailed trip information and weather information. Departure is fron Park Student Center on Friday @ 6:00PM. Contact Hanna: hanna@u.arizona.edu

2.) Mt. Lemmon/Oracle Ridge trail: Short (B) hike. Contact Joe: jleisz@ag.arizona.edu, or Wit: wisniewski@ece.arizona.edu. Meet on Saturday @ 8:00AM at the ABCO at Catalina Highway (not the ABCO at Sabino Canyon Road). Bring head lamp or flashlight for exploring mine shafts.

Note: Unless otherwise announced, hikes depart at the Park Student Center.
