Minutes for Meeting of 07-21-99

With all the intensity of this year's summer monsoons, we are most sorry to have to cancel hikes or suddenly change plans. Last week's trip to Clear Creek was cancelled, due to flooding. Also, because of the washout of the Mt. Lemmon highway, Wit had to cancel his trip as well. I still, nevertheless, make another one of my frequent visits to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. There was still one trip, due to changes in plans.

Past Hikes:
Erich and Hanna, instead of going to Clear Creek left Friday evening to the Huachuca Mountains, to do an over night camping trip at the Saddle Road and a day hike up Miller Peak. It was, basically, cloudy, throughout the day.

Future Hikes:
1.) Tanque Verde Ridge (Moonlight Hike): Rated B-. Depart Saturday evening. For people living on the west side of town, meet @ 7PM at Park Student Center. Then all will meet at 2nd rendezvous point @ 7:30PM at the Fry's supermarket at Speedway and Pantano, to pick up people at the east side of town. Contact Wit: wisniewski@ECE.ARIZONA.EDU. Bring rain poncho (incase of monsoon), water, and snacks.
