Minutes for Meeting of 09-08-99

Hello Ramblers!

Once again, we welcome all new members and returning members. Again, we had a great weekend with good weather as we are approaching the end of Arizona's monsoon season.

Past Hikes

  1. Wit led a trip to the Lemmon pools on Saturday with about 9 people showing up. The hike through the Wilderness of Rocks brought them to pools with lots of water.
  2. Wit also led another hike on Sunday to Lemmon lookout, observing the sunset.
  3. Wolfgang did a backpacking trip in the high country of the Chiricahua Mountains, setting up base camp, and day hiking to Centella Point, Fly's Peak, and toward the southern parts of the range. Sunsets were fantastic, and, with the clear skies, lots of stars could be seen.
  4. Hanna led a backpacking trip into the Gila Wilderness, stopping at hot springs. They saw lots of fish, frogs, other wildlife, and starry skies at night.
  5. Clayton did an easy hike in the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument near a mine, along the Puerto Blanco Road.
