Some recent hikes I did (both solo):
5/6/01 Wasson Peak via the Kings Canyon Trail. Lots of lady beetles on top,
first time in my experience on this mountain. Flowers are way down since a
month ago, except ocotillo, prickly pear, and cholla, which are spectacular.
4/29/01 Mt. Wrightson, up the Baldy Trail, down the Super Trail to
Josephine Saddle and then down the Baldy Trail to the parking lot. My first
time to the top since knee surgery last June. Many lady beetles on top (a
common occurrence in summer), and a Rock Squirrel has taken up residence
since I was there last over a year ago.

2.) Wolfgang went on a hike on the Dave Yetman Trail on Sunday morning,
hiking about 10 miles. He saw a rattlesnake, coyote, lots of lizards, and
many blooming cholla.
3.) Loretta lead a day hike up Mt. Wrightson in the Santa Rita Mountains.
Report is as follows:

Since I won't be at the meeting I'll let you know how the Mt. Wrightson
hike went. We got a very early start (7:30am at the trail head) which
really worked in our favor. We got to the top in record speed and enjoyed
the limited view (it was very dusty). The clouds rolled in on our way down
and we did get some sprinkles. We got back to town about 3:30pm and stopped
for ice cream. Overall a very nice hike, lots of other hikers there too. I
can't remember all the critters we saw (birds etc.)
