FUTURE HIKES:

1.) Mat is arranging a trip this weekend to Humphreys Peak in northern

**************************************************************************

Greetings,

After climbing to the top of New Mexico at the beginning of the month, I
thought it only fair that someone also climb to the top of this state as
well.

I would like to make a day-ish trip to Humphreys Peak (well, it shouldn't
be much over 24 hours)

Leaving Tucson Friday night; sleep hopefully near the trailhead; wake up
bright and early; dash up, take a photo and come back; return to
Tucson Saturday afternoon/evening.

Apologies for clashing with the trip to REI. However, I would like to stop
by there anyway to check it out.

Let me know if you are interested and what time you can get away on Friday.

Cheers,
Matt.

This trip is rated "A". If interested, contact Matt Chamberlain
[mc@lpl.arizona.edu].

2.) Ross is planning a hike on the Aspen Loop Trail in the Santa Catalina
Mountains. Departure is from the Park Student Center on Sunday (8/26/2001)
@ 10:00 AM. Rated "C". Contact Ross: [rosslampert@hotmail.com] or 325-5912.

ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING GEAR TRIP

I am planning on taking a trip to the arm pit of Arizona (the greater
Phoenix area) to shop at REI (Recreational Equipment Incorporated). This
trip will be on August 25, or perhaps later on August 24 if everyone is
available. I have 4 seats available and plenty of room for new toys
acquired on this trip. This would be an excellent opportunity for new
ramblers to acquire equipment with the guidance of more experienced hikers.
There is no experience requirement for this hike. There could be more room
available if more drivers are willing to drive. Actually we may be willing
to frequent other outdoor businesses if they are recommended. If you are
not familiar with REI, they are an outdoor equipment cooperative that
provides excellent outdoor equipment at reduced prices. If you are
interested in this trip please e-mail me at [shiers@ag.arizona.edu], or
see me at the next meeting. The departure will be listed in the next
ramblers minutes based on the response that I receive in the interim.

Thanks
Eric Shiers

ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING RAMBLERS T-SHIRTS

There are one large and one extra large T-shirt left. If there are more
people interested in T-shirts please e-mail me. If there is a significant
response I will submit an additional order or a new T-shirt design.

Thanks
Eric Shiers [shiers@ag.arizona.edu]

If anyone wants to add information or post additional announcements for any
hikes and club business, please feel free to use this listserve. Good Luck
this semester! Meanwhile, keep Rambling!
