Minutes for Meeting of 07-03-2002
Howdy Ramblers,
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-
The Ramblers meet every Wednesday at 5 PM in the Forbes Building in room
307. All hikes, unless otherwise stated, will meet for departure in the
parking lot behind the Park Student Union. After 8 PM on Friday the lot is
available all weekend for general use.
-
Ross had to give up his duties as the Gear Warden for the time being. If
anyone has a storage shed or room in their garage for a few packs and
sleeping bags, et cetera, please let me know ASAP. It is preferable if you
have a residence closer to campus.
-
We will need to find a new person to take over the position of webmaster.
If you are good with computers and have the time, please contact Dan
Carroll: [dcarroll@u.arizona.edu].
Past Events:
-
Ross' Thursday tradition continued last week with Will, Steve Nicholosi, and
Hanna going to see "Dial M for Murder" which is an old Agatha Christi
novel. It was made into a movie by Alfred Hitchcock and contained a humorous
picture in the movie where Hitchcock was sitting in with a group of people.
Guess you had to be there. Ross made a pie somewhat like a French Silk
pie. Reviews stated that it was filling and not too rich, with a nice chocolaty
flavor and a bit of graininess to tease the palate.
-
Last Wednesday after the meeting and dinner at Zachary's, Michael Dumke
had a nice going away after party courtesy of Massimo in his immaculate living
room. Rob showed up later with a Corny Keg, which was both interesting and
educating to many of those individuals who were there.
Future Event:
-
As we all are aware, this Thursday is the Fourth of July. Because there
probably won't be a movie playing at the regular time, Ross' traditional
Thursday get-together will be postponed until next week. However, in place
of the weekly event, he will be graciously hosting an Independence Day barbecue
(note the correct spelling Susan) at his place:
111 W. 17th St. (near Stone and 17th) 241-2022
Yellow building with blue trim and a blue fence out front
Park near the corner of 17th and 7th
Ross lives upstairs.
Be there @ 5PM or so
Have a great Holiday weekend and stay cool. We might get some rain Sunday
or Monday.
